Finance ministry calls auctions with unlimited OFZ offer success

MOSCOW, Feb 14 (PRIME) -- The first auction of OFZ federal bonds with no offer limit is a success, and the auctions will continue, the Finance Ministry said in a statement late on Wednesday, when it sold 42 billion rubles worth of two issues of OFZs with a combined demand of 84.9 billion rubles.

“Today, the Finance Ministry has held OFZ auctions in a new format for the first time without setting limits of the bond offer. From our point of view, the first experience of placing federal bonds without any limits may be considered a success,” the ministry said.

Still, the ministry may conduct auctions of OFZ with limits in the future, and the choice of the format will depend on the market situation, the ministry said.
